Hello world!

WARNING!!!   This site is being re-designed.  It is a work in progress.  What that means to you is that, while some of the links work, many don't.  More material is being added (and fixed) on a (usual) daily basis.  Some of the links that DO work, will take you to pages that look terrible (I blame that on Microsoft, but will fix it myself).  The fonts don't match, the pictures are too big, I've written too much copy that goes on forever and ever, making it an unpleasant experience for everyone -- not unlike the Democratic Party primary process.  So thank you for your patience.

That said, thank you for visiting TheCapitolGestalt.com. I am Jeff Holland, and if you have navigated your way to my little corner of the web, if is probably because you want to see some writing samples. The good news is that there are plenty here from which to choose and I am pleased to offer you full access to all of them. Open, read, download, print, or engage in any combination thereof until your heart is content. To borrow a phrase from “sarcastic punk pop”’ legend Tim Quirk, (SHC.com), they are “free and worth every penny.”

The other news is more daunting. Since I started getting paid to write for others almost twenty years ago, I have composed an enormous amount of material for a wide variety of clients. From campaign speeches for Senator Richard Lugar to DVD liner notes for Too Much Joy, I have become skilled at tailoring my approach to each project to ensure that I capture each client’s personality accurately, and convey their message in an appropriate manner. Whether the final product has been a news release, a fundraising letter, an op-ed, a comprehensive research paper, or a campaign brochure, I have developed the versatility necessary to employ a broad range of writing styles and formats.

What does that mean to you? It means that while this started as a small website that would offer easy access to a few of my professional writing samples, it has grown into a much larger site than I had originally intended, with a lot more material than I ever thought myself capable of compiling in once place. No matter what type of writing sample you are seeking, you will find it here. The daunting news is that it I know you are busy and do not have five or six hours to spend hop-scotching from page to page trying to find what you want. To help you navigate quickly and effectively, please follow the directions below and to your left. To read more about the features other than writing samples included on this site, please browse through the material below and to your right.
