About Jeff Holland
Winners Win, Losers Cheat

From 1996-2001 I served under contract as FAIR's exclusive professional fundraising consultant. Below are select direct mail packages and other projects I wrote and created for FAIR.

During this period of time, I was responsible for developing creative concepts, writing copy, and overseeing the production of the direct mail program and other projects for the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

Many of the issues I wrote about more than five years ago are today in the center of the American political spotlight. Of particular interest might be the pieces I wrote on terrorism, amnesty for undocumented workers and border patrol security issues.

To represent those issues, I have chosen several packages I wrote for FAIR to offer as samples on this site. Below are descriptions of and links to each package.

How Our Current Immigration Policies Are Helping The Terrorists Who Declared War On America Plan and Execute Attacks From Within Our Borders

1999 FAIR Terrorism Package: How U.S. Immigration Policies Make it Easier for Terrorists Like Osama bin Laden to Strike Within the United States: This package addressed the link between immigration and terrorism long before most others identified it as an important issue.  Reading it now, five years after September 11, it clearly forecasts the almost identical step-by-step blueprint Osama bin Laden followed to orchestrate the strikes on New York and Washington -- yet it was written MORE THAN TWO FULL YEARS BEFORE THE ATTACKS.

EXCERPT: "Funding an expansive network of terrorism, bin Laden has placed a bounty on the lives of Americans – including civilians, women and children – and has openly encouraged terrorists to strike within our borders. It could be a crowded airport—a jam-packed football stadium – a little league complex or school – or it could be someplace like the World Trade Center, again. This time, how many Americans will die?"

Apparently Crime DOES pay.
The idea of offering amnesty, or a "guest worker program" as President Bush and some members of Congress are now calling it, is far from new.  Throughout Bill Clinton's second term, his administration continuously proposed legislation that would allow "undocumented workers," or those who remained in the U.S. after their visas had expired to "legalize" their status without returning to their respective home nations to go through the proper channels to apply  for immigration to the United States legally.  Not only would this process have set the dangerous precedent of rewarding those who chose to circumvent federal law, it would allow the immigration equivalent of "line jumping" -- a reprehensibly unfair practice both to those applying for immigration to the U.S. through proper channels and immigrants already in the United States legally.

In the fall of 2000, I wrote a prospect survey package to educate Americans about the Clinton Administration's proposal to offer illegal immigrants amnesty -- and to organize a grassroots effort to lobby against it.  Interestingly, my background with the National Right to Work Committee helped me expose and articulate the sinister motive behind Big Labor's unwavering support for Clinton's amnesty offer.

Excerpt: "There are some very powerful and wealthy forces in America, led by union bosses from the AFL-CIO, who DON’T believe criminal aliens should be brought to justice. Instead, they want Congress to essentially PARDON the nearly FIVE MILLION criminal aliens who are currently living in the United States of their crime and allow them to stay in the United States legally and permanently."

As part of their crusade, the union bosses and their cronies have promised a war chest of political riches and a huge arsenal of support for Congressmen who vote their way and grant criminal illegal aliens free, legal status in America.

And for those who dare to oppose their cabal, Big Labor has threatened political ruin.

Why would Big Labor want to REWARD illegal aliens for breaking the law?

It’s all about money. With union membership dwindling to near an all-time low, the Big Labor strategists don’t see five million law-breaking illegal aliens.  They see five million new, dues-paying union members.

Because illegal aliens often work for much less than prevailing union wages, and are often paid "under the table" to avoid detection, unionized companies are losing contracts because they are unable to compete financially.

But instead of advocating the obvious answer of DEPORTING illegal aliens and cracking down on employers who break the law by hiring them, Big Labor has found a more "financially attractive" option.

If they get their way, and Congress approves an amnesty plan, Big Labor can immediately sign-up millions of new union members. Former illegal aliens will GLADLY pay union dues in return for their legal status – and their new right to demand union wages..

It is the ultimate sweetheart deal! Criminally illegal aliens stand to reap HUGE REWARDS as a result of this brazen and unapologetic display of union greed. And Big Labor stands to make BILLIONS from the massive windfall created by former illegal aliens who will happily fork over monthly union dues to their benefactors.

While the AFL-CIO and other labor unions have always claimed to be the champions of hard-working Americans, now they are showing their true colors. It’s not about protecting workers.  To Big Labor, it’s about power and money.

So the stage is set. Criminals who have scoffed at our immigration laws and fraudulently abused our system may now get to remain here legally – all the while thumbing their collective nose at an America they could not possibly respect.

In the eyes of Big Labor, CRIME APPARENTLY DOES PAY.

FAIR's Border Patrol Prospect and Special Appeal Housefile Package.

Long before the "Minutemen" organized and helped put this issue into the American spotlight, FAIR has been advocating the need for tighter security on our borders.  To research for this package,I spent a week with FAIR task force members on the U.S. Mexico border in 1998. Without witnessing the problem first hand, I could never have comprehended the enormous challenges inherent in curtailing the flow of illegal immigration.  Even where the border was most heavily fortified, there simply were not enough Border Patrol agents to cover the area,  If they would focus on one section, those attempting to enter the United States illegally would simply change their course by a few miles and enter elsewhere.

Excerpt from attached pub note:  "The situation along the Mexico-U.S. border in Cochise County is nearly beyond description.  There is so much illegal alien and drug trafficking activity here that is not an overstatement to report that the United States government has lost control of our national border in this area.  Some estimates suggest that more than 3 million illegal aliens -- and 250,000 pounds of drugs -- will cross into America this year through this region alone. As a personal witness to the problem, those figures are difficult to dismiss as exaggerated.

At first light, we flew along the border at 400 feet and saw literally thousands of trails and millions of footprints.  The surrounding desert was strewn with so much garbage that it looked as though an outdoor rock concert might have been held there the night before.

Families here report that they can't go to the market or to church together, as they are forced to leave one adult at home to protect against looting.

Ranchers here make daily repairs to fences torn down by illegals, yet still often awake to find their livestock slaughtered and water tanks drained.  Some property owners have given up, leaving many sections of the border open and unfenced.

Because they feel unprotected, it is common here for citizens to arm themselves.  One elderly woman, who has been burglarized more than 50 times in 5 years sleeps with a gun next to her bed.

Border Patrol agents are making record apprehensions but know they are stopping only a fraction of the illegal traffic."
